Howard Payne University will hold Commencement for August and December graduates on Saturday, December 19. One hundred six students will have degrees conferred upon them by Dr. Bill Ellis, president of HPU. Of the graduates, 105 will receive bachelor’s degrees and one will receive a master’s degree.
Commencement will be held in the Brownwood Coliseum beginning at 10 a.m.
The Honorable Bert V. Massey II, mayor of Brownwood, will deliver the charge to the students.
Additionally, Chime Out will be held on Friday evening beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the Bullion Suites of the Mabee University Center. This traditional ceremony symbolizes the passing of authority, responsibility and privileges from the graduates to the underclassmen of the university.
